How it works

Combine your old pensions and start planning for a better retirement.

You may have an old pension plan which was set up 10 or 20 years ago. At that time, the charges associated with those plans will probably be much higher than the charges on pension plans available now.

One way to check if our service will be of benefit to you is to ask yourself a few simple questions:

• Do I know what charges are taken from my pension plan each year?
• Do I know where my pension fund is invested and how it is performing?
• Are there any valuable guarantees attached to my plan which I should retain?

If you do not know the answers to the above questions, it might be a good time to let us take a look at your pension plan.

What we do  

With your agreement, we will contact your pension plan provider and find out the answers and a lot more information. When we have received the information, we will analyse your plan and discuss our findings with you.

If we find that the existing plan you have is more suitable to your needs, we will confirm this for you and explain the reasons why we take this view. There will be no charge to you, if this is the situation.

If we believe a different plan would be more suitable for you, we will discuss this with you and explain why we take this view.  Our recommendations will be provided to you in writing, in a report which takes account of your circumstances and objectives.

If you have 2, 3 or 4 pension plans, perhaps with different providers, it may also be better if you have 1 easy to maintain plan. We will also let you know if this will be in your best interests.

Why use our services

We are a Financial Conduct Authority registered firm. Our FCA number is 150188. You can check our registration on the FCA website – https://register.fca.org.uk/

This means that our Financial Advisors are subject to FCA scrutiny and rules which require them to be qualified and competent. We only recommend well established, financially sound and UK based pension providers such as Aviva and AEGON to our clients.

The charges associated with the above pension plan providers are competitive and amongst the lowest available in the market place – typically a total of 0.35% a year for the pension plan and the pension fund combined.

Our own costs are also competitive. On a single pension plan with a fund value of £10,000, we would look to charge you £500 to cover the amount of work we would carry out.

You would not have to pay us anything in advance and we would not receive any fee until our report was issued to you and you were happy to proceed.

You would also benefit from receiving any future reviews on a plan we arrange for you, free of charge.
